Sciatica pain is a type of pain that affects the sciatic nerve, a large nerve that extends from the lower back down to the back of each leg. Pain caused by sciatica might be severe, and it usually affects one side of the lower back reaching all the way through the back of the thigh and down the leg.

The most common symptoms:

  • Lower back pain.
  • Pain on one side of the rear or leg that increases when sitting.
  • Hip pain.
  • Burning or tingling down the leg.
  • Weakness or numbness when moving the leg or foot.
  • A strong pain that makes it difficult to stand up.
